Just add water.
Today:
Photoshoot went well, a little stressful at times but we conquered and let's hope the end result is amazing. We just sang and danced and laughed most of the day. Life is way too much fun to take yourself seriously. We are young girls with so much to be thankful and happy for why not enjoy ourselves and suck up all the fun life has to offer us.
On the way home Danielle and I rewrote the lyrics to that lee ann rhymes song 'how do I live' the song is now about creepy gingers in mercedes driving next to you on ventura blvd.
I'm sad that everyone is going back to their corners of the world untill christmas break. It was amazing seeing the girls but it was too short. Danielle leaves for NYC tomorrow night so I'm going to see her before she leaves as well.
We have shot so much video footage over the week, with our new FLIP camera I can't wait till we upload and edit it all for you!
Last Night;
Maggs, P, Smit, and I did a run through of our shoot looks, then went to Jerry's Deli and ate Matzo ball soup.
After that Smit and I stopped by my aunts house and ate cookies then sped over to our friend Danielle Robbins bday party at Matt and Chris' house in Porter Ranch and hung out with some friends.
Just watched Dexter now I'm going to watch the Rock N Roll hall of fame concert. Obviously tonight is chill. I'm going to catch up on some sleep and relax. Tomorrow is hair day at Andy's and then Smit time!
Goodnight everyone. Thanks for reading, though we don't always say it we always mean it, we are thankful for everyone that reads this. You're going to help us change the world.

reunited and it feels so good
first and foremost i would like to throw out a HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone. weither you like thanksgiving or not is your business but there is no reason to not embrace a holiday that allows you to spend time with the people you love and eat food around a big table and enjoy the day. those that don't enjoy holidays really do confuse me...it's not about the material posessions one might accuire during christmas or hanukkah or chrismakkuh, it's about the tradition. what is there not to love about being around people you love and who love you...maybe they're too 'rebellious' or 'cool' to admit it. whatever.

gobble gobble!
last night ali and i went over to maggie's house and hung out for a few hours. maggie has been sick so it was the first day we were able to see her...i think she's better now! we went over what she is going to wear to the photo shoot on sunday. hmm...i don't know if i was supposed to say anything but YES! we're going to have an awesome photo shoot on sunday and i cant wait for everyone to see them...ali has our looks DOWN. so legit.
obsessions of the moment:
the Duggar family.

yes, this is the family that now has baby #19 on the way. for some reason i am completely obsessed with their show. when i came home for this break i instantly went to tivo and was SO HAPPY to see that few episodes ive missed of '18 Kids and Counting'. this family is truly fascinating and i really can't tell you why...i think its a mix of weird/southern/no birth control? who knows...the video down there is the Duggar's AND Dolly Parton WTF YES TOO GOOD

it's a good thing
I came home 2 days early and I couldn't have made a better decision...
Been with ali and a few friends I haven't seen since the start of summer...everything happens for a reason and I've learned that you can't expect everyone to do what YOU think is right. People need their own time figuring things out. Don't blame them for their mistakes...if they're smart everything will work in the end.
Wisdom teeth coming out on jan. 5th...I won't if all my wisdom and wise words will go away with them?
Love and actualy sunshine from LA

Missing home
I don't know why, but I've been so homesick lately. Actually I do know why...it's the holidays and it's the first time in my entire life that I won't be seeing my friends and family.
I do enjoy working but I honestly didn't realize how much of my social life will just disappear. I shouldn't complain though it's incredibly hard to find a job now and I'm so lucky I found a full time one so I can stay here in Oregon. Okay I'm done complaining for now. I know that when spring break comes around I am definitely going home for that week!
BTW DEXTER WAS AMAZING LAST NIGHT. I would marry him.

Satellite of Love
Lately I love music, I mean I always loved music but now that I'm older I appreciate it. I appreciate the art of it all. Just watched Velvet Goldmine and its an amazing movie. The characters are based on Bowie, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, and Mark Bolan (T.Rex).
Watch it, its amazing. Even if you weren't into glam rock.
Can't stop loving:
Lou Reed
Elvis Costello
The Stones
Bowie
Iggy
T.Rex
Dan Auerbach
Crosby Stills and Nash
Tom Petty
Paul Simon
Springsteen
U2
Zz Top
I can go on for days and days...
Lately I also really appreciate Neil Diamond too, I used to hate him but now I see the genious.
If you watch Dexter can we just dish on how ridiculous the show is getting! So amazing! I almost want to close my eyes cause its soo outta control!
Season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm was really good as well.
P.s. Piera, girls are shitty everywhere you go. (Mostly)
I can't believe I'm only days away from seeing the Dolls! It feels like it can't come soon enough! Were going to be so busy but I can't wait!
Its pretty chilly in L.A. Right about now.

Is anyone else amazed at how catty girls can be? And what for? Maybe it's just an East Coast thing (although I'm sure the opposite is argued by East Coasters...)

Pre-Thanksgiving Hole
I had an epic realization today: I'm in college...
Walking past our student center I saw all the brandeis apparel the student store sells. What did I come to realize?
I'm in college.
Bit late, don't you think?
What's the next realization? That I graduate in 180 days.
Aside from this realization, is what comes with graduation.
Next step in a serious relationship, jobs, grad school/med school, bills... one day kids (WTF!)
For now, I might just choose to stay in my little pre-Thanksgiving-it's-good-to-go-home-soon hole. AKA, a 5 page asian art research paper, a 12 page research paper on fashion magazines, a 10 page cancer-diet research paper, a 2 page newspaper article/soc paper all due the Tuesday right after Thanksgiving. See why I want to stay in my pre-thanksgiving hole?
Balls.
Happy note: DOLLS REUNITE SOON!!! Except Selena, i hope it's a glamorous surprise that she just walks right through the Menchies' doors in Sherman Oaks or Woodland Hills ;)
On the menu tonight: A little Boston action with Lauren, Ben and V who graduated last year.
Sweet Digs.
Long Live PDLA!

'I wrote this for you'
Relevent to my dolls.
We are at the gates. We are at the gates and we are coming for you.We are coming to set the wrong things right. We are coming to destroy your policies. We are coming to destroy your calendars. We are coming to destroy your tyranny and we are going to replace it with a democracy of ideas. We are here for your assignments, expense reports and time sheets and we are going to start a fire so big and so bright, the sky itself will gasp.We are coming. For you.

For you.
Lend me your ears.
I'm going to rant.
Ranting.
Big annoyance when people over step their boundaries or when they get too comfortable. Why would someone tell me, Ali Montrose, to get on eharmony.com. This is insulting no offense to people to utilize internet dating sites (I'm sure you'll find love). I am 20 years old. I am single. I don't fucking care whether or not I'm dating someone, I've always been this way. I'm pretty happy on my own, I live a busy life, I have things I'd like to do before I decide I want to settle down with anyone. I literally just got to the age where I have no one to answer to soooo why would I hinder myself with just that and by choice as well. Whatever.
Still ranting.
Don't blame your bad attitude on your fucked up childhood. Its a cop out. We all had fucked up childhoods. Rise above it, get some help, make your life better move on.
Oh I'm not even done.
When someone sticks their neck out for you and is trying to help you out. Don't fuck them over. Don't be a bastard.
Ok done.

I don't mind being shot, I just don't dig being told about it.
"I'm looking for a place that will collect, clip, bath and return my dog. Kn1 7727, cigarettes and tobacco. Animals and birds bought or sold on commission. animals and birds bought or sold on commission. I want a dog that's gonna collect and clean my bath, return my cigarette, and, and give tobacco to my animals, and give my birds a commission. I want- I'm looking for somebody to sell my dog, collect my clip, buy my animal and straighten out my bird. I'm looking for a place to bathe my bird, buy my dog, collect my clip, sell me cigarrets and comission my bath. I'm looking for a place that's gonna collect my commission, sell my dog, burn my bird, and sell me to the cigarette. Going to bird my buy, collect my will, and bathe my comission. I'm looking for a place that's going to animal my soul, knit my return, bathe my foot and collect my dog. Comission me to sell my animals to the bird to clip and buy my bath and return me back to the cigarettes."- Bob Dylan.(After reading a sign outside a shop in Europe) he goes on to explain why he wrote Subterranian Homesick Blues. The way words can change their meanings and do so all the time.
On such a big Dylan kick. I watched both parts of the Scorsese documentary 'No Direction Home'. It chronicles his rise to fame as a folk singer and the change in sound to rock n roll, up to the motorcycle crash in the late 60's that ended his touring for 8 years. Such a good film, if you love Dylan you'll love this film.
Hung out with Jess, went shopping and I bought some rings. Also went hunting for mustaches and bought a few great ones. I can't really take myself seriously at all with facial hair its ridic.
Got the styling concepts set for the PDLA thanksgiving promo shots. Its going to be pretty great.
Now to watch my very guilty pleasure... Glee. I know its embarassing.

if you have a strong gag reflex i suggest you cease your continuation of reading this entry.
so im not one to share my feelings with the world, let alone my friends, let alone anyone who reads this blog. and by the way, leave your marks on the page, comment! thanks.
anyway i have this boyfriend and his name is tim and hes from minnesota. he is very midwestern...what does what mean exactly?

that would be a cow barn and that is tim when he thought it was a good idea to be inside the cow barn...with a beer...
weve been together for almost two years which is really scary and really cool at the same time, i guess. as you can probably guess we are engaged in a long distance relationship which is the hardest thing in the entire world to do especially when you are only 21 years old. he honestly, and obviously is my first love and like any girl in my place can never imagine what the future will hold without said person in their life. we just had a talk about what is going to happen when i move back home considering i have to look for a job and all that fun stuff. the conclusion is to just wait and see what is going to happen and the other side is doing the obvious...take some time off from each other and if we are meant to be than the universe will bring us together and if not, then that's what is meant to be. i am a very strong believer in letting what is meant to happen, happen and not force anything.
the thought of not being with him is the scariest thing ive ever had to think about. i didnt want to be this girl...ever. i thought i was above all of the feelings of love and etc etc etc whatever. i think that might also have to be in part of me being obese in high school and boys thinking i was gross. either or.
our relationship has been a crazy one, rocky, amazing, and should have probably been taped this entire time to be a reality show because it was so full of drama, who doesnt love some drama? maybe the end is what will be exposed to everyone...mayve its not ending.
just two photos to laugh at...

what is the answer to all of this?
no point to the blog just thinking...

I, Ali Montrose, sleep in a California King sized bed. I, Ali Montrose, always end up squished because my dog is bad at sharing.
I had dinner with my dad's side of the family tonight it was super jewish.I watched the first hour of 'Fiddler on the Roof' and ate Kugel. While watching 'Fiddler' my grandmother let me in on some history of how jewish we are, good times. But still nobody wants to claim me as any certain race or religion.
The Jews tell me I'm Mexican the Mexicans tell me I'm a Jew. I have no homeland. I went to private catholic school as a kid and always wondered why I was the only one who celebrated Hannuka. And the only Jew who knew all the prayers to the rosary and celebrated Christmas. I got the best of two really different worlds. Mexicans with the Catholic church and all those traditions and music and festivities and the big family. The Jews who rarely went to temple, but taught me all the traditions and fed me well, and the small family.
I actually was headed to hang out with Nat at her place tonight but while driving I realized I promised to have dinner with my grandma, aunts and cousins. So after dinner I headed over to Nats and took it easy. I finally got the Slurpee I'd been wanting courtesy of her lovely boyfriend, Tyler.
Tonights plan was to watch the meteor shower with Zach at one a.m. But our plan was foiled.
I bought some undeniably sexy boots today from work. Black and knee high. Yum. Maggie and Smit, you will be borrowing I can tell.
I'm so anxious for the girls to get home, life is moving too slow with them gone!!

pre-blog fun!
So as usual I haven't eaten yet today, I usually eat after class so I just wait until then.
Anyways!!!
A fun fact about me is that I'm Creole and a fun part of that is eating suuuper spicy food. In turn, tonight I'm making red beans and rice!
This is not just white rice and beans, oh no. This is some of the most delicious food sent down by Zeus himself. If you're feeling saucy one day find your nearest Creole and ask for some red beans and rice.

i video chatted with piera and danielle the other day. it was fun and we got to catch up FINALLY. [yes i know it's my fault :(].
ken and i found a cat outside about a week ago. it comes back every night for food. it is HUGE and looks like milo except 4 times the size. we are pretty sure it is a large cat breed like a small bobcat or something. it's nice. we call it milo two and play with it. amanda brought it hannah montana cat toys. it likes them.

knock three times on the ceiling
Eating In 'n Out for dinner and updating you all!
On Friday after I worked an abnormally long day at work due to a coworker being sick or 'sick' ill never know.
Jess and I went for sushi at Crazy Tokyo and then drove out to Sherman Oaks to hang out with my friend Zach at our friends Becca and Noah's apartment. Sebastian and his girlfriend Lauren were there and some of Beccas friends from FIDM. We had fun just hanging out and talking. I drew some pretty amazing pictures ( with Zach's help) for Noah and Becca to hang on their walls. Next time I'm there ill take some pictures so you can see my lovely artistry ahah.
Saturday I worked and then went to granada hills to hang out with my aunt Debbie. She made me meatloaf stuffed with mushrooms and bleu cheese and mashed potatoes on the side! It was unbelieveably tasty. We also watched Annie Hall which is an amazing Woody Allen classic, if you enjoy Woody Allen I suggest watching it. His humor and writing style is similar to Larry David's, who was influenced by him. I might help cowrite a book with my aunt. Its going to be about how her travels and art inspire different recipies. She's an amazing artist she hand paints tiles and murals as well as does interior decorating. Her house is gorgeous! Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest and other publications. Ill take pictures next time I swear. Finally had a bout of random clarity last night about the next PDLA steps, and its going to start rolling! Can't wait to see the girls in 10 days!!! Ahhhh!! So much to do! So exciting!!
Today you'll be jealous to hear I stayed in bed all day and watched movies with my pup! Now off to my Sunday tv watching ritual! Can't wait to have a good week to post about.
Friday is my Mustache Holiday Kickoff bash!

A little fun
SOO it's been awhile since i've posted...
-Volleyball is OVER!
-My Run-in with the celtics
So last Thursday me and my friends went out for this girl's 21st. We went to this bar called the New Landing here in Waltham. We were previously at the Skellig, another bar, but found out that none other than Glen "Big Baby" Davis from the Boston Celtics was at the New Landing. So of course we all go over and I was the last oen of my friends into the bar because I was talking to a friend up at the front. Once I got to the back, I saw this huge black man and 4 of his posse guarding him and all the girls with him: aka, the people I was with. So i go back, and I want to get in with my friends but his posse won't let me.
"I don't care who he is, he's preoccupied with all those other girls, I just want to be with my friends"
Luckily the guy that I was talking to was 40 yrs old (legit) and liked me (oh, he kept trying to get on me the rest of the night and another friend had to pretend to be my boyfriend to get him off). He pulled me over closer to Big Baby and said "Big Baby, this girl wants to meet you! She likes you!" (False). "Oh my dear it's soooo nice to meet you!!" (My deaR?) and proceeds to dos beso it (2 cheeck kisses) and then tries for the middle. no thanks. I turned, and hung with my friends.
Later that night, I find out the other girls with us somehow got him to come back to school with us to the dorms. I'll have to upload the pics later when I am home for Thanksgiving and find my connecting cord from comp to cam. Don't worry, I threw up LA.
Shortly after he randomly screams: "Oh my god! WT! Who hit my nose!" and runs to the bathroom. I thought he was going to puke, because NOBODY was on the couch with him at this point. He then comes back out with toilet paper wadded up his nose and won't take it out of his nose for the rest of the night. He did not spend the night, luckily, and it wasn't my apartment, luckily.

Getting Started
I started my job!! I started on wednesday and yes the hours are LONG. 9 hour days but I'm liking it so far. I think the main reason I like it so much is because I'm on my own and it feels really good. The only thing that doesn't feel good is standing up for so long that my muscles now hate me. I have huge knots in both my shoulders and I can only lift my arms up to certain amount before it starts to really hurt.
The customers at the store I work at are pretty nice too. Yes I get the occasional impatient person but they're actually helping me out in a way. Oh and my trainer is AMAZING. He is the nicest most patient person I have ever met. I'm lucky I got this job =)
I'm off to watch some Dexter!
OH...and 5 more days til New Moon....yessssssssss!

Hope is a drug legal or not.
Oh hey, Paper Dolls are taking over the world. So that creeping feeling you have..its us and its cool to look over your shoulder cause we are coming for you!
Let's talk about the love hate I have for Forever 21. Great finds for super cheap. Poorly made and disposable. Sad contradictions for the young and broke.
Today I did nothing of importance except buy a rolling rack because my closet has no more room. I gave it a helping hand courtesy of Bed Bath and Beyond. I also met up with my good friend Nillie for some frozen yogurt at Menchies and did some much needed catching up.
I wish I had more time to bake even though I am not good at it and more often than not hurt myself in the kitchen. The idea of being as amazing and crafty as Martha Stewart is like my secret (not so much now) wet dream.
In honor of the concert I couldn't go to tonight because I couldn't justify spending 40 american dollars on a show...
My song of the post;
Glass jaw- ape dos mil
Ali los angeles.
Night little terrors!

rules
I've lived in New York City going on 4 years and there are a few rules I live by that I have decided to share and for anyone here or who will be here one day, follow them and you'll get the most out of the city.
1. Never walk back the way you came
There are about 30 ways to get to one location so use them! You never know what you miss by keeping on the same paths...discover new streets, new shops, meet new people: always walk a different route.
2. Get out of your bubble
I am still trying to break this habit. See, in NYC every section has what you need why travel out of the East Village, Gramercy, Cheslea, etc? I will tell you why; the 10-ish block radius that determines your neighborhood gets really monotonous. Travel uptown and visit a gallery, spend a day in central park, head to battery park and hang out at the water. Don't be a neighborhood snob.
3. Take your shoes off when you come home
This is a must. You don't know what kind of dootie you stepped in on your travels, don't bring it where you eat, live, sleep. GROSS!
A final note that has nothing to do with my list: some people will always be trying to bring you down emotionally or literally (flashback to this summer). Don't let them. Don't let the bastards get you down, karma always knows when to kick in. Loves it!

we have the facts and were voting yes
Dear world,
I have not died. I've just been boring obviously! Haha just keeeding!
Working a lot again at retail land.
I stopped my internship, it wasn't working out so much.
On Thursday I worked an Event at the Playboy Mansion for Grand Charities. A friend of my families owns the charity, its for kids. I was in charge of the cash pool which had raffles for 20 dollars. Its a stag event so its only men. Its a pretty debaucherous night to sum it up; prostitutes, strippers, bunnys, bunnys from the bunny ranch, painted ladies, the grotto, lots of money, Ron Jeremy, cars, watches, painted ladies, drinks, food, cash, skanks, and dirty dudes.
Before the event Nate and I went to Urth Cafe on Melrose off La Cienega and then to Diddy Reises mmmm. Despite what people say I've never had a hard time getting a table at Urth.
Friday I went to Jen's house for a Jocks and Hoes party ( Jen works with me). Nobody really dressed up except like 5 people. I just wore converse. Let's be honest I'm not the sportiest of ladies. After the party another coworker and friend, Jessica, and I went to Revolving sushi on Ventura in Woodland Hills. It was super tasty I ate albacore so hard. Revolving is convenient because its open till 2 am, there also a place Called Light and Fit that is open till one on Ventura and Winnetka (also in Woodland Hills).
Last night my friends played a show at the Cobalt Cafe (which ironically doesn't serve coffee). I went with my lovely friend Krysten. Not our kind of music but enjoyed running into a bunch of our friends there. After the show went to hang out with my friends and listened to their band practice some new songs, which by the way were really good. The band is called Culprit. Nate came too for a little bit which was nice I missed seeing my friends!
Today I bought 2 knitted hats from Forever 21 ( $4 ) and 2 Cuffs soo cute.
Still counting down the days to see the girls. D and I have amazing creative concepts planned for shoots and video!
P.S. I'm having a mustache holiday kick off party!

It has to be said
12 MORE DAYS TIL NEW MOON!!!
Not even gonna pretend I'm not extremely excited for this movie to come out.
When I first heard about Twilight I thought it was going to be something I make fun of for the rest of my life....but no I'm obsessed just like the next person. My obsession with the books and movies has gotten out of control the closer the release date is.
For example I found this website so I can get my daily dose of Twilightness

I would do something like this....
So I wake up this morning around 10:30...which is early for me. I look at my phone and I see a missed call from my work. I call back a little nervous cause I have no idea why they would be calling me. I find out that my orientation was THIS MORNING. Seriously. I missed my fucking orientation for a great job I got up here.....I called corporate and apologized profusely. She laughed a little and said it was okay just as long as I make it to the next one next week. Ugh I am so lucky they didn't fire me on the spot. THANK YOU WHO EVER IS UP THERE!

Q and A with the Dolls_ Piera Boston
'Music and Your City'
Precursor: I have a weird taste in music...
.Whats the best part about the city you live in?
boston is an AWESOME college town. it's young and lively, something to do all the time. Variety of bars, sports events, easy transportation to get to all of them.
.What was the last concert you went to?
Last concert was technically all of our friends' band (Culprit), but mainstream was I believe a Nas concert held at Brandeis.
.What was the first concert you went to? Who went? N*SYNC!!! Maggie went (it was her birthday! 14 i think?) and a couple other friends from junior high: Samantha, Sarah, Taryn, Gorney.
.Which Bands/Artists shaped your taste in music?
Well people say I like a certain type of music and a term is used that isn't exactly PC. I love pop and hip hop, but my go to for the everyday (walking around, chillin in the car, studying) is a mix of Radiohead, Muse, Elliot Smith, few Coldplay songs... to get me amped: BRIT! or techno (the euro trend...Rio, David Guetta, some Cascada...)
.In your opinion what is the best spot in your city? Newbury Street or the North End. Newbury street has awesome shops (when the funds are available), but the North End has the best Italian food (it's the Italian section) and an awesome pastry shop called Mike's Pastries. to die for.
.Favorite season in said city? Spring. I hate the cold, so to have 60 degree weather after months of 30-40 degree weather accompanied by rain and snow, makes 60 feel like the 80. Perfect weather, for me, is where you can have a light sweater/jacket on and a t-shirt underneath, but be comfortable with or without the sweater.
.What is your favorite venue to hear music in the city?
I haven't been to a concert in Boston, but one of my favorite restaurants in Watertown (called Not Your Average Joe's) always plays Jack Johnson which makes me super happy.
.Any places you have yet to go to that you want to visit there?
Have yet to go to Fenway Park to see the Green Monster, and REALLY need to get to a Celtics game. I also want to go to the Modern Art Museum and the Isabella Gardner Museum.
.Top five artists/bands of the moment?
Oasis, David Guetta, Maroon 5 (ALWAYS), Radiohead, Elliot Smith
.Any releases you're excited for?
At the moment, not particularly.
.Has music shaped your life in anyway?
I never got into music until high school. I had a guilty pleasure for light rap/hip-hop in junior high and my dad never let me listen to it in the car. I think it resulted in suppressing my music endeavors, but once high school hit and got my own car, I made sure I had the latest releases.
.Do you play any instruments? I use to play the recorder and clarinet in elementary school. Those were the days...I really want to learn how to play guitar.
.Favorite Boston institution? Boston's museums are great. Most people dread museums, so my second favorite place to the MFA is probably this restaurant called the Union Oyster House. Ever since my recruiting trip to Brandeis, my dad and I have gone to the Union Oyster House to have clam chowder and oysters on the half shell before we go to Durgen Park by Faneuil Hall for lobster. It's a tradition.
.Where do you go to hear or find about new music?
While at school I don't get to listen to the radio and keep up on the newest releases. So, I search iTunes for the free music, new releases, and top downloads.
.I feel like music has a way of inspiring art in all forms, how has it (if at all) influenced your chosen art form?
There's certain music I listen to when I write versus when I study, but also when I'm relaxing or drawing/painting. Freshmen year I took a painting class. Everyday I would have to paint, and I always listened to the same mix. For some reason, it made me concentrate and I felt I painted better: Oasis, Radiohead, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Fleetwood Mac, Mars Volta, Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle, Bright Eyes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Citizen Cope...to name a few.
.What in your opinion is soo Boston? ex: jews and retirement homes in florida.

'music and your city'
.Whats the best part about the city you live in?
The absolute best thing about Eugene is how beautiful it is. If I'm having a bad day or feel sort of down all I have to do is walk outside and just look around me. It always cheers me up.
.What was the last concert you went to?
The last concert I went to was the Fall Out Boy concert with Smitty and some other friends! I'm not big on concerts so I think I was a "Debbie Downer" the whole time. haha. What was the first concert you went to? Who went?It was when I was 12 years old and I went with my mom, little brother and some friends and it was.....Wango Tango. No I'm not proud. BUT, Angelina Jolie was there. So that was pretty amazing
.Which Bands/Artists shaped your taste in music?
I can't name any bands or artists in particular honestly. It would have to be all my friends and family that has really shaped my taste in music. Every single one of my friends has such a different opinion and taste in their music choices that just being around all them has shaped what I listed to.
.In your opinion what is the best spot in your city?
Anywhere that is full of trees and beautiful views and lack of people.Favorite season in said city?I've only been here for a little over a month, but I have a feeling I'm going to love the winter here. My first white Christmas =).
What is your favorite venue to hear music in the city?
Ahhh I haven't been to any venues here =( Not yet at least.
Any places you have yet to go to that you want to visit there?
Not any that I know of at the moment. I've a lot of places in the past month.
Top five artists/bands of the moment?
See the thing with me....and it might be one of my problems is I cannot name five artists/bands that would be my favorite at the moment. I just like different kinds of songs/music. I guess I'm pretty indecisive
.Any releases you're excited for?
Not at the moment =)
.Has music shaped your life in anyway?
It probably has. It has definitely helped through some tough times and made things a lot easier for me. So in some ways it has shaped my life.
.Do you play any instruments?
I took piano lessons when I was a kid but stopped shortly after starting. And a couple years ago I started taking guitar lessons but just couldn't find any time to practice. I honestly feel that was one of the biggest mistakes in my life. I really wish I never gave up. I'm definitely going to try again.
.Favorite Portland institution?
hah. Couldn't tell you
.Where do you go to hear or find about new music?
My friends! They always seem to know everything about music...unlike me
.I feel like music has a way of inspiring art in all forms, how has it (if at all) influenced your chosen art form?

'music and your city'
.Whats the best part about the city you live in?
The variety. I can go to an exhibition at the Getty then grab dinner in Westwood and catch a concert in Hollywood all in one day. L.A. offers an entire spectrum of things to do for whatever interests you.
.What was the last concert you went to?
I saw Brand New and Manchester Orchestra play at the Palladium a few weeks ago.
.What was the first concert you went to? Who went?
I saw the Goo Goo Dolls and Third Eye Blind play at the Greek, Vanessa Carlton opened. I went with my best friend Natalia and her older sister Katie.
.Which Bands/Artists shaped your taste in music?
The band that really opened up the world to me was The Strokes, I learned there was a much better world out there than mainstream blahness. I started listening to music like The White Stripes, The Hives, The Vines, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Since then I have such a love for music, I appreciate so many sounds and bands and artists everything from Buddy Holly to Van Morrison
.In your opinion what is the best spot in your city?
The best spot is The Getty any one of the south facing balconies over the sculptural gardens. On a clear day you see everything from the beach to the Downtown skyline and the Griffith Observatory.
.Favorite season in said city?
It feels like its always Summer here in L.A. But I love Autumn.
.What is your favorite venue to hear music in the city?
I love a good intimate little venue like the Troubadour but its hard to beat the Rosebowl on a nice Summer evening.
.Any places you have yet to go to that you want to visit there?
I really want to see a band play The Smell or The Echo. I also really want to go to the Getty Villa in Malibu, they just reopened it to the public.
.Top five artists/bands of the moment?
- Monsters of Folk
- Bon Iver
- Band Of Horses
- The Dead Weather
- Passion Pit
.Any releases you're excited for?
Julian Casablancas solo project Phrazes, I loved Albert Hammond Jr's side project I can't wait for this one. (Both of The Strokes) He's actually playing every Friday in November at some theatre downtown.
.Has music shaped your life in anyway?
In everyway. I started booking bands at 16 at this shady little venue in Northridge called Club 13. Most of my social circle has stemmed from that experience and I've made life long friends through it. Music totally made me the person I am today. Its an art that changed me, music can crawl into the deepest parts of you and hit a nerve that makes you feel every emotion. Its the universal connector.
.Do you play any instruments?
I can't, unless you count the recorder but that stops being considered a legitimate instrument after elementary school. I did dabble in harmonica when I was little I had the VHS tapes and all.
.Favorite Los Angeles institution?
Late night snack time at Jerry's Deli
.Where do you go to hear or find about new music?
My friends, or through Pandora actually, sometimes you find great new music.
.I feel like music has a way of inspiring art in all forms, how has it (if at all) influenced your chosen art form?
I feel like art and fashion go hand in hand, any great artist has an amazing sense of style be it deliberately or accidentally. I mean look at any great musician they influence popular culture. The Beatles bowl cut and skinny suits, Sex pistols punk rock, fuck you style, I could go on and on...
.What in your opinion is soo L.A. ex: jews and retirement homes in florida.
300 dollar track suits and fake tans, boobs, and lips.
.Any artists/bands you wish would shut up?
Lady GaGa and Green Day.

Crush the enemy
Oh sunday, lazy day.
I did nothing today except watch TV and brush my teeth.
How was everyones Halloween?
I was a pumpkin, what did you all dress up as?
It seems like nobody did anything really exciting at all! I worked and when I got off I came home and read.
I've been forcing myself to read lately, I feel like my brain needed more action so I helped it out with a Robert Greene book, The 48 Laws of Power. Its not the easiest of reads by the way.
P.s. Just bought the most amazing soy candle. Soy candles are supposed to be so much better for you because the way other waxes burn, the smoke is just as bad as breathing in second hand smoke. So choose soy even though it can be a bit pricier.
Let's hope this next week is an amazing week! I'm stressing over a stupid situation, I can't wait to patch it up or move on, cause its bothering the crap out of me.
Only 24 days untill I see my loves!
Goodnight all!
