HAPPY ALMOST NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!


My mom left this morning and I already miss her so much! I had so much fun! We saw a bunch of movies together, went shopping, went out to dinner and decorated my room. She is the most amazing person I have ever known and I'm so lucky to have her as my mom. I love you mom!!


Worked sucked major ass today...sooo slow. BUT in two days is the Rose Bowl game and I can't wait to see the ducks WIN! Hells yes. When I find out what I'm doing for new years I will update!

So christmas was good, got to see my brother and my nephew and my sister in law. I love being with everyone for the holidays but my body is worn out I have had no time to just be lazy and nap. I'm getting over a sinus infection too.

I went to the LA zoo monday! That was pretty cool, ill post photos later. Also had lunch at Roscoe's on Gower. I was nervous to try chicken and waffles but all in all the experience was a positive one.

New years is fast approaching what are your plans?

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!!

I love the holidays. Everyone just seems so much happier. Yesterday I worked from 1-7:30. I was ringing up a customers groceries and started bagging her stuff when I picked up her chocolate bar to put it in her bag when she stopped me and said it was for me for working on Christmas eve. Just when I start losing my faith in people little things like this always bring me back. It honestly made my day.


My mom is going to be here in three hours and I can't wait! I haven't seen her in four months. I've missed her so much. And I also found out I have the next FOUR days off from work! CRAZY.


Okay I'm going to stop rambling and post some pictures from my Ugly Sweater Christmas party!! It was so much fun. Woke up the next morning to find some nasty little things left behind by some randoms that showed up. But whatever....that stuff happens.

Been having so much fun with the girls since they got home!

Mostly just being ballsacks but to be honest, we are pretty entertaining even if were just lounging around at home. I am so lucky to have these girls, even after a terrible day we can get together and laugh till it doesn't even matter anymore.

Today Smit and I baked for the better part of the day and proceeded to watch some pretty great reality tv on TLC. I have previously unreleased footage of Danielle trying to name all the members of the Duggar family, she did it, but at a cost to her sanity.

On Monday, Nate and I grabbed breakfast at Noah's and exchanged gifts. As always he got it right an amazing set of my favorite teas.
Danielle bought me amazing things from Marc Jacobs and Maggie got me amazing mustache bandages and a beautiful bracelet!

I'm so excited for Christmas eve to get here!!! I cannot wait to see my family and spend time with my nephew, brother and sister!

Oh christmas tree

We got our christmas tree today!! It's a little baby one and it's sooooo cute. I'm gonna name it....maybe Gertrude.

Today is the Ugly Sweater christmas party. I ran a bunch of errands today to get the rest of the stuff needed for tonight. I couldn't find an ugly christmas sweater anywhere! I finally went to target and found a gem. It's blue with snowmen on it and snowflakes and of course....sparkles. Truly a sexy christmas sweater. I can already see people side eying me at my party cause they're jealous.

OH almost forgot to tell everyone the BEST NEWS EVER.....I got my car broken into two nights ago and my TOMTOM was stolen! I KNOW. So pissed. But I can only blame myself for leaving it in my car.

One of those moods where I hate everyone and nobody is on my good side. Quite possibly anything you do will piss me off.

Tonight I'm reading a Chuck Klosterman book 'IV' to be exact. Everyone has their opinions on him but to me he's alright I find him entertaining enough to read his books. To quote him, he's not overrated or underrated he is just 'rated'.

I'm not dressing people for events anymore, it pisses me off when my vision is altered and its no longer mine. Its like being given a painting then painting over it. Don't do it, its rude.



Aaaaaany way. Happy Hannuka its almost over hope you had a good one. We had a menorah lighting at work complete with jelly donuts and latkes from Gelsons....ooh yes and fireworks! Today was busy so the day went by quickly with no time to think.

Ever around people who don't want to be where they are so they stop giving a shit? That's probably one of my pet peeves. If you don't want to be somewhere doing something leave. By staying you're just leaving a bad taste in my mouth and many others. That's something I never do. When I'm done, I'm done there's no point in doing anything half heartedly.

Happy Hannuka to all my Jews out there. I am only jewish by way of my Dad so I celebrate all the jewish high holidays with him and his side of the family. As I posted before we celebrated early this year since my grams couldn't be here for the actual holiday.

So friday my mom made me Latkes. Friday day Nate and I went to go see The Blind Side, it was a good movie. Lesser women would have cried. Obviously I did not. It was a pretty decent movie.
Friday night I had no intention of going out but I ended up at my good friend Emma's new house that she got with Scout. The place is in Burbank its pretty cute. I met some really cool new people there hopefully we all hang out again soon! Its really nice to open up your social world every once in a while. I never really feel like I need more friends but when I meet new people who I actually click with its exciting and I like to go with it.

The rest of my weekend I tried to stay indoors if you live in LA you know its been rainy and cold.

I dressed Emma for a Lady GaGa themed party last night she looked cute can't wait to see the pictures.

Anyways I found out today little miss Smith is coming home the 18th! So excited can't wait to be together again again!

Home is where your heart is

I've always loved LA because it's where I grew up...it's a huge part of me. Since moving to Oregon I never thought my being up here would only increase my love for my hometown. But it has.

I don't know if being the biggest baby ever(I probably am) but I honestly have had a really annoying week. I got my wallet stolen at a bar on saturday and luckily my money nor my debit card were in there but that means that I don't have a license and I shouldn't be driving around.So now I have to get an Oregon license and take that stupid drivers test all over again. Oh and speaking of driving my car is starting to show it's age and I'm freaking out about it. Our pipes are frozen in the kitchen and they most likely burst which means my ceiling could start leaking water, and when I say leaking I mean pouring down, that they're going to have to cut open our ceiling and fix the pipes before they ruin our entire house.

As much as I love Oregon it just isn't home. I'm still glad I made the decision to move up here. It truly has made me appreciate a lot more. I did take so much for granted. I just can't wait for June. I get to finally be with my family and friends.

Speaking of family...my mom is visting me! She's going to be here in 14 days!! I'm so excited. I get to show her around town and I think we're ever going to go up to Portland and shop! Can't wait!

We had a big snow yesterday morning, but then it decided to rain and melt all the snow.

I took my Health Psychology final yesterday, definitely a toughie, but I think I did alright on it.

Currently: editing a research paper on diet's effects on cancer progression. Need to cut it down by 2 pages :/ and revise the crap out of it.

Things to look forward to in the next few days: jury duty. May my civic duties ruin my social life! yay.

I am currently laying an a partial coma on my aunts couch.
We just had an early hannuka dinner.
So many latkes.

la mer, les etoiles...

i've got the french playlist on repeat...maybe its because i enjoy imagining im back in europe surrounded by beautiful people, the damp and warm air, and eating fresh delicious bread. the cobblestone streets so narrow, lined with little cafes and picturesque townhouses, are unlike any other in the entire world. bring me back to paris and let me sit in that cafe with my coffee and croissant people watching all morning and starting the day when i feel like it. the absolute most amazing thing about europe is the ease of the day and enjoying every moment of life no matter what is happening. that's it...brushing up on my french and heading back...and while im there greece is a definite stop: most beautiful place on the planet.

the other night i cut off my update because it was time to get dumplings and miso:
