You are beautiful but you don't mean a thing to me.

My cake ball pop whatever things came out super tasty, the aesthetics could use some work they just look like truffles not like easter eggs.

On another note, Smit is right we all grew up with things pretty easy compared to so many who have nothing, really we are all pretty fortunate. We all have voices that can be heard so why not lend them to those with none? I do some charity work here and there but I would love to get involved with an organization like the Flying Elephants (check them out just google it). But its also as easy as finding your local animal rescue and dropping off old towels and blankets.

I think I'm going to try and do a lot of travel this year the sound of escape is calling to me. Santa Cruz, San Fran, Portland, Tahoe, Reno, Vegas, Hawaii, Mexico... Bring it on.

Can't wait till June when smit and I go on our road trip to Oregon to bring Selenie home!!!

Hard Ass Bitches give back.

cycle of good

before i even wright this i know that people will make fun of me. i really don't care.

so as some of you may or may not know, i have been tv-less since christmas and just can't seem to get one that works. seriously. so resorting to hulu.com seems to be the logical thing to do...i have watched all of Always Sunny, Family Guy, on to the home design shows and just watched the final episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

WHY DOES THIS SHOW MAKE ME CRY EVERY TIME.

it is always during the introduction of the family and the final reveal of the house that makes my eyes full of water and it cannot be controlled! it has to do with seeing people that deserve the amazing gifts they receive and you just know it is not for selfish reasons, they really do deserve it.

my mind then started to wander, and i remembered in high school piera and i were involved with a group of girls from other private schools in the area who did some stuff to help the community. for example, have a garage sale so we could afford to have underprivileged kids give their family gifts under the christmas tree...and we actually helped the kids pick out the gifts and wrap them. money was not just being sent to some organization. it was really hands on.

while being in college these past 4 years, nothing that i have done has been for the greater good of a community, or to help another person or family out. i have been very blessed in my life and it's time to return the favor. we are all girls with really big hearts and one of the main goals of The Paper Dolls LA was to show the world that 20-somethings are worth their weight in gold. we are not just self-centerd ego-driven brats. we care. and i think it's time we start to show that. even if there might be some drama along the way.

everyone should do something that helps your community. for example, i got CPR certified last year and even though that did not directly or instantaneously have an effect on someone i know that i can help someone when the time is right. it is a great feeling. maybe you can donate food, blood, or clothes to goodwill.

doing good doesn't mean making a spectacle of yourself and showing everyone how giving and caring you are, it's about helping others which in turn will make you a better person.

a final goodbye (almost)

hard ass bitch month is coming to a close. it was hard to fulfill all of our duties being on opposite coasts but ali and i tried our hardest during this time. i am NOT giving up until i fire a gun and ride a motorcycle (something that jaci and i have been trying to think of since the start, didnt happen). i have also learned that i have a lot of black clothing and my favorite rule was having people question my stability. the most important thing about hard ass bitch month is though, that we really wanted to challenge ourselves, make our comfort zone a little bigger, expand our boundaries. mission one: i would call it a success. mission two: that has yet to be determined...but hard ass bitch month will officially end when i say it does. bitch.

and the hardest of the hard, the badest of the bad, the bitchiest of the bitchiest...Mr. Clint Eastwood.

"In this world there are two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns and those who dig, you dig."

that is one Hard Ass Bitch.

sidenote: i had NO idea Mr. Eastwood was sexy as hell when he was younger...i am about to make him man of the day on our tumblr damn.

It's just a phase

I've noticed about myself that I get into these "phases". I get really into something and then it just goes away. It's nothing that's life changing. For example I can't stop listening to rap! wtf? Before that I couldn't stop listening to paramore....Does this happen to everyone?

Those types of music are so different that I don't really understand how I can go from listening to one type to the next in a second.

Btw I have a new food love. They're called Yumm Bowls and they're from Cafe Yumm. I think they're only in Oregon. If anyone ever visits Oregon you have to stop and have an orignal Yumm Bowl. They're AMAZING

for the lucky?

A teary convo with Smit earlier this evening made me wonder if true, heartbreaking, universal, mind shattering, rule breaking love is for the lucky? Are we karmically bound to the people we are meant for? Is it like Hedwig's song about the angry gods? Who are all the people inbetween? Which reminds me of the quote that I live by and why I don't date carelessly the way most girls my age do

"Anything less than mad, passionate, extraordinary love is a waste of your time"

dear Dani

How could you even compare!?

In N Out fo life.

-Ali

east vs west (burger edition)

i love food. i just need to accept this and my life will be easier.

as mentioned on the official Paper Dolls Twitter (follow us!), there is a place not too far from my apartment called Blue 9 Burger. word on the street was that it was equal to, or BETTER than In-N-Out, which is pretty much blasphemous. i had to try for myself...

the burger:
the bun was not toasted like it is at In-N-Out and was a little...flat? can i say that? anyway, Blue 9 has a "special sauce" also but i couldn't figure out what it was...mayo mustard hotsauce combo? wasn't bad. kinda greasy. really cant complain, got my belly full.

the fries:
major source of contravercy on the In-N-Out front...50% hate them, 50% love them. i personally love them, you have to ask for them crispy. anyway, Blue 9's fries were seasoned. really good actually. better? i donno. i'll just say different.

Blue 9 is on 3rd ave between 12th and 13th. some more words are spreading that there's another In-N-Out wannabe on E 23rd st...ill be checking that out too.

if that wasnt enough, a few hours later i decided to really be a dumb, fat american and get more treats. 16 handles. it's the Menchie's of the east coast. better? no. but...just as good.

funny how i really look for any sort of way to compare the east and west coast.

(west coast always wins)

Abbot Kinney

Today Emma and I had our first spring beach adventure!

First off Emma had never driven Topanga Canyon to the beach before so I made her do it, honestly its my favorite way to get to the beach from where I live, its a pretty peaceful drive and really scenic. Right now the cyn is especially green because of the early season rain we got this year. I love Topanga its such a little hippie canyon, I appreciate little things like that about Los Angeles all the quirkiness that only people who live here know about.

We took PCH to Lincoln Blvd and down to Venice and walked the boardwalk. I wore my giant black super big rimmed sun hat out today I looked like a hippie. Every 30 seconds I had someone making a comment on it. I haven't been to Venice in years I actually really enjoyed myself. Emma and I got some gelato and poked arounf the little shops and the vendors. Its so lively there the energy is great the vendors are all so happy (or stoned) and colorful. So many marajuana clinics, junk shops, souveniers, cafes, psychics, street art, and local celebs aka the gold man and the worlds best wino ( jingle bells jingle bells help me get drunk today _ that's his one song its hilarious) We got there early in the day so we missed most of the tourist traffic by the time we were leaving.

The drive home was nice listened to some new music and mellowed out. Stopped by a friends house and now I'm going to make spaghetti and meatballs!

What music are you listening to right now? I'm just got back into this band by the name of 'Mumford & Sons'

why are you always so concerned Mr. Cage?

-Ali and Smit

ps-but really, why? its annoying.

Blasphemous.

Finally saw Alice in Wonderland, it was pretty cute I enjoyed it, almost as much as I enjoyed watching Nate hate it ahaha! Payback sucks chump! This was my revenge for that infamous night he made me watch Law Abiding Citizen.

Later the same night I went out to a very late sushi dinner with my coworkers in Tarzana at Revolving sushi. Yum. It was kind of a going away dinner for Jen A and Helene but mostly just an excuse to eat sushi together.

HAB month sidenote: watched 'The September Issue' and Anna Wintour is the ultimate HAB.

Random Sidenote: All decent men should dress, look, act, and generally BE James Bond. I fell back in love with 007's this weekend. Why? Come on you're a moron if you don't know why.

NO WORK tomorrow what to do? Drag myself to see Scouts movie? Paint at the studio with Aunt Deb? Sleep in? I don't know but it must be something creative! I've not done anything inspiring in months!

Who saw the new United States of Tara? What about Nurse Jackie? Thoughts?

a ginger's worst enemy: the sun

the past two days have been amazing. spent them in central park with some friends in the amazing weather that NYC has given us...let's see how long it lasts haha.

the first day i went with jaci and jackie, we spent 6 hours just laying in the park, making friends, loving on pups, laughing at the homeless man that slept the entire time we were there, hated the high school kids, and fell in love with a couple that was so in love. there was an amazing jazz/blues band that was playing in the mall, they were so good jaci and i stopped in our tracks when they started to sing. the bass player was also mad hot. mmm. there's so much random talent in the city...minus a saxophone player that just got in everyones business.

jaci and a kiwi. she cut it open with a steak knife. yeah.

I say awful things dont judge me.

Happy St.Patrick's day everyone!

Just got home from my friend Chrystian's kickback I went with my friend Steven, we had fun pretty mellow night. Now its almost 1:30 and I'm fully awake and completley bored however I'm also unreasonably lazy and cannot be convinced to leave my bed. Because of the affore mentioned laziness I fuly plan on falling alseep in the green slip dress I wore all day and throwing my hair in a bun. Yes world, that's the way I'm going to call it a night.

I love Selena Shilton
a) cause she thinks I actually know how to opperate a twitter (I don't)
b) because when I call her at 12:30 to talk for an hour she's game and will always make me smile.
c) she is the only one who can quote me directly and accuratley. Making me remember the shit I say (at least we know someone hears me )

Love you.

Already missing Smit (The east coast doesn't deserve you)

Anyways Smit or Ali need to teach me how to use twitter....I don't get it.

Selena(Eugene)

Apres Moi Le Deluge.

That's perhaps one of my favorite quotes. If you know who said it first I'll give you jelly beans. Here's a hint French revolution.

Woke up late utilized my 30% post consumer recycled french press and freshly ground bag of coffee. Needless to say I was heavily caffinated most of the day it seems 3 cups of very strong coffee really gets a girl going.

Worked, after that Rachel and I picked up Emma and got some really tasty grub at a so cal legendary spot: Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles on Gower off Sunset. I'm not going to tell you just how tasty it was cause I'd be gloating and you'd be sad and probably bitter.

I spent 16 american dollars on the recently released Peter Gabriel album by the name of ' Scratch My Back' its a compliation of songs written by both older musicians and younger influential artists. Recorded in a pretty simple broken down manner...well simple for Peter Gabriel: Gabriel's voice fronting an orchestra. Its fantastic. The album features songs written by musicians such as Paul Simon, Lou Reed, Bon Iver, The Arcade Fire, Radio Head, and Regina Spektor.

Now I'm home, pretty early night lounging with my dog and listening to the old Regina Spektor album pretty peaceful right now I'd like to get to sleep but that's just wishful thinking.

P.s. So cal was really hot today. I hate you heat and I would appreciate it if the sun could avoid my skin at all costs. Thanks,

Ali

Three.More.Months.!!

So close! I can't believe that in three months Ali and Smit will be flying up to good ol' Oregon to take me back HOME!

I do love this place and plan on visiting as often as I can. I've met some great people who have really changed my life for the better. But it is time to go back to where I feel I belong. LA.

One thing I will miss is the lack of traffic and not so lack of trees. It truly is so beautiful up here.

I still haven't found the plug in for my camera but my roommate somehow managed to get some pictures up. So here they are!!

this time baby...

i really need to kick myself in the face.

was home in LA for a week and it was so amazing. needed time to breathe and see the people i love.

highlights:
kill bill (ali made me watch it, so good)

70 miles round trip to sonic. SO WORTH IT
-adventure to find vodka soon followed

if they really want to OFFICIALLY be america's drive-in then they really need to have more of them, and not just po-dunk towns. its insane.

tried to go to a gun range but we don't know people who know guns...
-riding a motorcycle and shooting a gun will have to be postponed until further notice

i dub this hard ass

hung out with emma a few times...she will be the new Doll really soon!
slept on a cozy mattress
drove mah carrr
celebrated my bday at my families fav restaurant Mastro's in Beverly Hills
caught up on tv

this list could really go ON and ON but I will skip to the most important part:

at emma's house, we watched "RuPaul's Drag Race" where there was a girl (a real one teaching the not so real ones) how to pole dance. she did something so magical i must learn how to do it myself. clap my ass. no shame. if you know how to do this, 3 girls would like to learn. all the how to's (yes that happened) said we need to get in our underwear and im just not down, neither is ali.

real disturbing. real gross. but at the same time why dont i have an ass to clap like this? (i cant believe people make videos of themselves clapping their asses and put it online)

i need to learn.

well no one told me about her..

I AM THE BIGGEST POST SLACKER

EVER.

For this I appologize. The past week I spent all my free time with Emma or Danielle...or both at the same time! Selena even came home for a hot second I got to see her, I've missed that dirty slut. Met up with Maggie for a quick lunch. Hung out with Jason and Travis. Drove to Monrovia for a slushee from Sonic (drunk slushee). Bought a french press (best investment ever). Worked. Educated D on the glory that is Kill Bill. Set off fire works. Tried to tag key word tried....and mostly just enjoyed having Danielle home and someone to ballsack with.

Today I redid my room, finally hung the antlers I bought and dressed them with rosaries over an antique mirror. Went for a walk with Moz and Heidy stopped by Nats new house. Today was beautiful if you live in the LA area you know how gorgeous it was.

Now I'm going to watch Factory Girl till I crash.

P.s. How dumb is daylight savings? Lame.

Sweet baby Jesus

It has been way too long since I've updated. SORRY!!

Just got back from visiting family and friends in LA and it was a lot of fun. I took a ton of pictures but I can't find my cord that connects to camera and computer so it might take a while for me to post the pictures. As much as I love living in Eugene I really am considering moving back home. I miss my friends so much and seeing them again made me realize a lot.

My dad offered me a job that would start in June and I could make a lot of money. I think I'm going to take it. It will be great to go some place new and try something different. Btw a congrats is in oreder to Ali because she has a new career in delivering PUPPIES! Best phone conversation ever.

Me: Ali? What's going on?
Ali: *gagging* omg I almost just threw up....there's a foot coming out of her vagina!
