rules

I've lived in New York City going on 4 years and there are a few rules I live by that I have decided to share and for anyone here or who will be here one day, follow them and you'll get the most out of the city.

1. Never walk back the way you came

There are about 30 ways to get to one location so use them! You never know what you miss by keeping on the same paths...discover new streets, new shops, meet new people: always walk a different route.

2. Get out of your bubble

I am still trying to break this habit. See, in NYC every section has what you need why travel out of the East Village, Gramercy, Cheslea, etc? I will tell you why; the 10-ish block radius that determines your neighborhood gets really monotonous. Travel uptown and visit a gallery, spend a day in central park, head to battery park and hang out at the water. Don't be a neighborhood snob.

3. Take your shoes off when you come home

This is a must. You don't know what kind of dootie you stepped in on your travels, don't bring it where you eat, live, sleep. GROSS!

A final note that has nothing to do with my list: some people will always be trying to bring you down emotionally or literally (flashback to this summer). Don't let them. Don't let the bastards get you down, karma always knows when to kick in. Loves it!

Goodnight lovers
